President Maduro: “We are ready and prepared for a new process of popular election”

“I believe in the electoral and democratic path. We are ready and prepared to go to a new process of popular election, whenever the Electoral power decides it. It is the way. Respect for institutions and coexistence among all Venezuelans. We shall overcome for peace”. Thus was outlined this Sunday by the National Dignitary, Nicolás Maduro, on his account on the Twitter social network.

The Head of State, during a telephone contact from Miraflores Palace with the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, stressed on the importance to make the elections for the new National Assembly (AN) this 2020, as established by the National Constitution, and thus continue the political dialogue for the peace and stability of the nation.

Maduro welcomed the appointment of the new rectors of the National Electoral Council (CNE) by the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), and stressed that the country continues advancing in the renewal of its electoral schedule.

“With the new CNE Venezuela will be able to go to vote sovereignly and elect a new National Assembly”, added Maduro, and in 2021 there will be elections for governors and mayors.

To this respect, the Head of State recalled that for this electoral path “we have installed a national dialogue table last year, which worked very well, with the political parties and an important part of the opposition leaders of Venezuela”.

Maduro urged all sectors of the country to a permanent dialogue, to support the electoral path, despite the denial of some sectors of the extreme right wing that follow a line of surrendering to the orders of the United States government to withdraw from the electoral path and take the insurrectionary, guarimbero (rioter) and mercenary path: “I ask to the whole Venezuela to support the electoral path, the peaceful path, the path of the people’s vote, which is the path of Venezuela. All the conditions are given”, said the President.
