Venezuela delivers note of protest to Japan in rejection of statements by its Chancellor

Venezuelan Chancellor Jorge Arreaza delivered a note of protest to the Japanese ambassador to Venezuela, Kenji Okada, after ingratiating statements issued by the Japanese Foreign Minister during his visit to Peru:

“We present the strong protest of the Bolivarian Government against the statements made by Foreign Minister Taro Kono, yesterday in Peru. Some arrogant statements, of interference, violating public international law, unfriendly and hostile to Venezuela”, he said from he Yellow House (Seat of the Chancellory). In a broadcast by VTV, he lamented that Japan follows the script of the United States” following the steps of aggression against Venezuela”.

He also said that he hopes that the Japanese government rectifies this attitude to continue maintaining the diplomatic and cooperation relations that have developed so far between both countries.
