More than 22 million Venezuelans registered in the Patria System to receive immunization against Covid-19

This Tuesday the Minister of People’s Power for Health, Carlos Alvarado, participated in an interview for the “Dando y Dando” (Taking and Giving) program broadcast by Radio Nacional de Venezuela (RNV) and hosted by Tania Díaz in which he referred to the general balance of the progress of the 2nd Phase of Mass Vaccination against Covid-19 in Venezuela.

During the program, Minister Alvarado highlighted that, up to date, more than 22 million Venezuelans have registered in the Patria System to receive their respective immunization against Covid-19.

The senior head of the office for Health added that in this phase, in addition to the general population, immunization is also being completed for health personnel, adults and older adults, people with 2 or more chronic pathologies and special groups of exposure such as security forces, communication workers, among others.

In his speech, Alvarado urged the population to wait patiently for the notification to be vaccinated, this way the crowds in the vaccination centers will be avoided, stating that “vaccines continue to arrive in the country to meet the goal of 70% immunization”.

Likewise, he called on those citizens who have received immunization against Covid-19 not to relax biosecurity measures since they can still be infected: “The vaccine does not offer the absolute guarantee of not contracting the virus,” he concluded.
