The Chancellor of the Republic, Jorge Arreaza, expressed himself through the Twitter social network in order to commemorate the second anniversary of the separation of Venezuela from the Organization of American States.

In the publication, the Venezuelan diplomat stated the following:

Two years ago, on a day like today, the definitive withdrawal of Venezuela from the OAS became effective. A wise and timely decision by President Nicolás Maduro. In 2019 we live another chapter in the historical struggle between Bolivarianism and Monroeism, which has been going on for almost 200 years”.

On April 27, 2017, four years ago, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, announced that the nation would withdraw from the Organization of American States, however; The country would have to wait at least 24 months for Venezuela’s exit from the OAS to be effective.

During that time, the president of this community, Luis Almagro, carried out several maneuvers to de-legitimize the decision of the Venezuelan state, but on April 27, 2019, the separation of the republic from that body, which today is part of the interventionist tactics that are carried out from the outside.
