More than 37,000 Carabobo people have been served through 0800-Bigote just two months after its launch

More than 37,000 people, including some 13,000 calls for emergencies, the need to travel, or primary health care, have been attended by the 0800-Bigote (Toll-free helpline) program two months after its launch in Carabobo state, an initiative that is expected to be replicated throughout the country.

During the broadcast of the “Con Maduro +” program, the Governor of Carabobo state, Rafael Lacava, inaugurated the adult Intensive Care room and the Neurosurgery unit for the Ciudad Hospitalaria Dr. Enrique Tejera (CHET) in Valencia, while offering positive figures for this service.

He explained that 0800-Bigote helpline service has carried out more than 7,000 ambulance transfers, as well as more than 3,363 home medical evaluations, while 1,891 social cases have been attended.

In health journeys held on a rotating basis in various communities of the 14 municipalities of the entity, 37,781 people from Carabobo state have been assisted in general and specialized consultations, as well as pharmacy, pediatrics, geriatrics, urology, gynecology, cardiology, dentistry and through the mobile CT scanner, in which more than 362 CT scans have been performed.

President Nicolás Maduro instructed Governor Rafael Lacava, as well as the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez and the Minister of People’s Power for Health, Magaly Gutiérrez, to present everything related to the health program in the next meeting with governors and mayors, in order to replicate it throughout the country:

“I want to go bringing, gradually, progressively, according to the resources that come in, step by step I want to take this initiative to all the states of the country, this wonderful direct care formula that was born in Carabobo”, said President Maduro.
