CNE congratulated the people for its democratic vocation

The National Electoral Council (CNE) addressed the Venezuelan people on Monday, December 7, to acknowledge its participation in Sunday’s election day in which, in an atmosphere of peace, and of citizen and bio-sanitary security, they went out to vote to choose the new authorities of the National Assembly to be installed on January 5, 2021:

«Congratulations to the entire Venezuelan people for demonstrating once again its high democratic vocation, to settle their differences through the exercise of the right to vote # National Assembly2020,» published the electoral body on its account of the Twitter social network this Monday.

In the night hours of Sunday, the rectors acknowledged the participation of Venezuelans on election day: «The rectors of @ve_cne thanked the civic behavior of those who came to comply with their constitutional rights and duties, both voters as well as all the staff who made possible the success of the election day.”

We have given the world a new demonstration of citizenship by developing a successful process at the 29,622 polling stations. It has been an exemplary day in which the Venezuelans demonstrated and made their decision, ”said the president of the electoral body.

At approximately 1:20 in the morning, the president of the CNE, Indira Alfonzo, announced the results registered up to that moment with 82.35% of transmission of minutes: a participation of 31% of voters and 5,264,104 totalized votes.

Likewise, she announced that the first results by electoral alliance, based on that percentage of transmission of minutes (82.35%) are -GPP: 3,558,320 votes 67.6%; AD / Copei / CMC / AP / El Cambio: 944,665, 17.95%; VU / PV / VPA: 220,502, 4.19%; PCV: 143,917, 2.73% and others: 357,609, 6.79%.

Alfonzo said that for the nominal positions corresponding to the 87 constituencies scheduled for the election, 81 of them have a stable trend and no possibility of change in the final result, as well as 26 of the 48 positions on the national list.

In this sense, she confirmed some of the winning candidates of this contest. Among them Diosdado Cabello, Cilia Flores, Tania Díaz, Iris Varela, Jesús Faría, Vanessa Montero, William Benavides, Iliana Medina, Gilberto Jiménez, Ricardo Sánchez, Didalco Bolívar, Henry Hernández, Luis Reyes, Noelí Pocaterra, María León, Luis Soto, Jesús Martínez, Gladys Requena, Asia Villegas, Mario Silva and Antony Coello.

She also highlighted the civic nature of electoral day, where Venezuelans demonstrated that «the only possible way is that of vote.»

On behalf of the rectors that make up the CNE, she thanked the participation not only of voters, but also of polling station members, electoral witnesses and members of the Republic Plan:

«We have given the world a show of civility in the 29,622 polling stations set up today throughout the national territory,» added the main rector of the CNE.
