President Maduro celebrates International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

This Sunday, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, commemorated the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, while expressing his acknowledgement to the resilient men and women of that country who continue giving the fight for a better life.

In this regard, he noted that: “On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, we send greetings and our appreciation to those who continue to resist with courage and dignity. Venezuela raises its voice in rebellion for the noble cause of the State of Palestine. Enough of the siege!”, Said the Head of State through his accounts on social networks.

In this sense, since 1977, every November 29 the United Nations commemorates the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, this date was chosen because of its importance for the Palestinian people. That day, in 1947, the United Nations General Assembly approved resolution 181, later known as the “partition resolution”, which stipulated the creation of a “Jewish state” and an “Arab state” in Palestine, with Jerusalem as a corpus separatum subject to a special international regime. Of the two states envisaged in that resolution, only one has been created so far: Israel.

On this day, the international community is given the opportunity to focus its attention on the fact that the question of Palestine has not yet been resolved, as reports the United Nations website.
