March 12 was decreed as National Alimentation Day

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, decreed March 12 as National Alimentation Day.

The announcement was made this Wednesday in a production session, broadcast by the Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) TV station, in which he highlighted that the decision is a tribute to the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP).

“Starting next year, March 12 will be Alimentation Day in Venezuela, every March 12, in tribute to the CLAP people,” said the president.

In Venezuela, Food Day has been commemorated since 1951, to promote good nutrition for people, as quotes the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

Likewise, the head of state explained that the Alimentation committees serve 6,900,000 families a month in the country, despite the blockade.

From Mexico, Panama and Brazil, approximately six million boxes with 24 products were imported, and another six million were of national production.”

“The United States government with the coup-plotting opposition managed to stop the sale of those from one day to the next.” However, he affirmed that they will stabilize the CLAP.

“This is what we are doing with work,” said Maduro.
