The National Government gives women a leading role, a fact that is reflected in public policies at all levels of the State.

The Bolivarian Revolution raises the banner of respect and protection of the integrity of women, taking its first steps in 1999 with the creation of the National Institute for Women (InaMujer).

Later, in 2009, Commander Hugo Chávez created the Ministry of People’s Power for Women, whose fundamental principle was “to guarantee the empowerment and participation of women, in the construction of an equal and fair society.”

With the Revolution, the participation of women acquires an important place, which is why the National Government develops policies to improve their quality of life.
