COVID: Venezuela registers 824 community cases, 44 imported and 52,564 recovered

A total of 824 cases of community transmission of COVID-19 and 44 imported cases were detected in the last 24 hours by the Venezuelan health authorities, raising the total number of infections to 64,284, of which 52,564 have successfully recovered, which is equivalent to 82 percent of cases.

The information was released this Thursday by the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, through a series of publications on her account on the Twitter social network @ drodriven2, at the end of the daily meeting of the Presidential Commission for Control and the Prevention of COVID-19.

Regarding the cases of community transmission, she explained that they focused on:

Capital District: 193 new cases in 21 of the 22 capital parishes, concentrating the largest number of cases in: Sucre (Catia) with 23, San Juan with 21, El Valle with 17 and El Recreo with 15.

By state:
Miranda: 129 new cases.
Aragua: 103 new cases.
Sucre: 54 new cases.
Apure: 52 new cases.
Anzoátegui: 43 new cases.
Yaracuy: 41 new cases.
Carabobo: 37 new cases.
Guarico: 31 new cases.
Lara: 27 new cases.
Bolívar: 21 new cases.
Monagas: 20 new cases.
Barinas: 15 new cases.
Zulia: 14 new cases.
Táchira: 12 new cases.
La Guaira: 11 new cases.
Delta Amacuro: 7 new cases.
Cojedes: 6 new cases.
Portuguesa: 3 new cases.
Amazonas: 2 new cases.
Merida: 2 new cases.
Falcón: 1 new case.

Meanwhile, regarding the imported cases, she indicated that all of them came from Colombia.

Until this Thursday there are 11,200 active cases, of which 6,414 are admitted into hospitals, 4,436 are in Integral Diagnostic Centers (CDI) and 350 in private clinics.

Regarding the number of deaths and infections in the world due to the coronavirus, he explained that at 7:35 p.m. this Thursday 30,329,110 infections were registered, of which 22,014,742 have recovered and with the unfortunate number of 950,070 deceased from the virus: “The epicenter of the pandemic remains on our continent, and thus we remain vigilant”, she emphasized.

On her behalf, she regretted reporting the death of nine people due to the COVID-19 infection in the last hours, which raises the number of fatalities to 520. The deaths were: a 77-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man from Delta Amacuro state; 2 women aged 53 and 64 from Anzoátegui state; a 40-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man from Aragua state; two men aged 56 and 61 from Táchira state, and a 54-year-old man from the Capital District.

“We are in a week of radical quarantine in the country and we urge our people to have the maximum conscience. The battle against this terrible disease needs us all; staying home and complying with biosecurity measures is protecting each other”, she recalled in a final tweet.
