COVID: Venezuela registers 968 community cases and 104 imported cases in the last 24 hours

A total of 968 cases of community transmission of COVID-19 and 104 imported cases were detected in the last 24 hours by Venezuelan health authorities, which brings the total number of infections to 57,823, of which 46,125 patients have recovered after receiving free treatment, equivalent to 80 percent of the cases.

The information was announced this Thursday by the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, during a series of messages published through her account on the Twitter social network, at the end of the daily meeting of the Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of COVID-19.

On the cases of community transmission she detailed that are focused on:

Capital District: 203 new cases in the 22 capital parishes, with the largest number of cases concentrated in El Valle with 31, Sucre (Catia) with 21 and El Paraíso with 17.
Apure: 138 new cases.
Miranda: 110 new cases.
La Guaira: 85 new cases.
Nva. Esparta: 78 new cases.
Carabobo: 67 new cases.
Monagas: 46 new cases.
Yaracuy: 45 new cases.
Merida: 37 new cases.
Falcón: 37 new cases.
Zulia: 23 new cases.
Aragua: 17 new cases.
Delta Amacuro: 17 new cases.
Guárico: 17 new cases.
Táchira: 15 new cases.
Cojedes: 13 new cases.
Bolívar: 11 new cases.
Barinas: 7 new cases.
Amazonas: 1 new case.
Sucre: 1 new case.

Meanwhile, regarding the imported cases, she indicated that they all came from Colombia.

Rodriguez said that up to date there are 11,238 active cases, of which 7,873 are admitted into hospitals, 3,080 into Integral Diagnostic Centers (CDI) and only 285 into private clinics.

For her part, she regretted to report the death of nine people from COVID-19 infection in the last few hours, bringing the death toll to 460. The deaths were two men, aged 69 and 57, from Nueva Esparta State; a man aged 74 and a woman aged 81 from Monagas; a man aged 51 and a woman aged 67 from Amazonas; a woman aged 68 from Aragua; a woman aged 69 from Miranda, and a man aged 50 from the Capital District.

“This Commission is in permanent session, together with Pres. @NicolasMaduro, reviewing the advances in studies and treatments that will allow us to save the lives of our compatriots who unfortunately have been infected by this virus, which has taken so many lives in the world,” she wrote in a final tweet.
