President Maduro wished success to candidates to be measured in the parliamentary elections

This Tuesday, November 3, has begun the electoral campaign towards the parliamentary elections on December 6, and thus the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, has extended a message wishing success to the more than 14,000 candidates that will be measured on the electoral journey.

The dignitary took advantage of social networks to call on the participating candidates to take care of covid-19, to faithfully follow the biosafety regulations that prevent the spreading of the virus during the campaign:

«As of today, Tuesday, November 3, the electoral campaign begins. I wish success to the 14,400 male and female candidates, whom I ask to beware of Covid-19, it will be 30 intense days so that then on December 6, with the popular vote, we elect a new National Assembly”, wrote the president on his Twitter account.

It should be remembered that the campaign based on the schedule set by the National Electoral Council (CNE), as established by the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, will run until December 3. More than 14,000 candidates from the 107 organizations with political purposes participate, more than 90% of the groups registered with the CNE.

The text also indicates that public campaign events for political and indigenous organizations are subject to the current biosanitary regime to prevent the spread of covid-19.

On December 6, 144 deputies to the National Assembly (AN) will be elected by proportional system (52%) and 133 deputies by nominal system (48%) as part of what is requested by the opposition parties before the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ ) to achieve a more plural and representative Parliament.
