Maduro rejects new US sanctions: It is a coward measure

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, rejected on Tuesday the new sanctions issued by the US Treasury Department against the first combatant woman, Cilia Flores, the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, the Minister for Defense, Vladímir Padrino López, and the Minister for Communication and Information, Jorge Rodríguez.

In an act held from Caracas city, the Venezuelan president described as “cowardly” the new onslaught by the US government, which includes his life partner in the list of sanctioned people: “Since they can not defeat Maduro, they go against Cilia. They will not be able to defeat Cilia either, because she is a brave, revolutionary, combatant, Bolivarian and anti-imperialist woman”.

Maduro said that this measure, which includes the Vice President of the Republic, represents an offense against the Venezuelan women and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces:

“Since they have not been able to use the Bolivarian National Armed Forces for their imperial interests, they take out their claws of sanctions against the dignity of this loyal and revolutionary soldier, Vladimir Padrino López”.
