Venezuela extended this Wednesday the restriction of air operations throughout the national territory, for a period of 30 days, that is until September 12, according to a press release issued by the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC).
Moreover it reported on the closure of 12 airports in the country, namely: Maiquetía, Maracaibo, Porlamar, Barcelona, Barquisimeto, Valencia, Punto Fijo, San Antonio del Táchira, Santo Domingo, Puerto Ordaz, Maturín and Caracas.
The statement also states that are exempt operations in a state of emergency, cargo and mail flights, technical landings, humanitarian flights, returnees or flights authorized by the United Nations, and cargo and commercial overflights.
It highlights that those exempted must comply with all bio-safety protocols in the face of the global pandemic, which will be under permanent supervision of the State and must undergo medical evaluations that the health situation warrants.
Similarly, excepted flights must have a pre-authorization from the Institute of Civil Aeronautics, Health and Migration.
Finally, it was affirmed that these actions are carried out in order to continue guaranteeing the security of Venezuelans and continue to provide the necessary support during the Covid-19 health contingency in the country.
