Government applies four work lines to contain the spread of Covid-19

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, established four fundamental lines to stop the spread of the new coronavirus in the country.

“There are four lines of work, approach, application of protocols, recovery and prevention, that is why the National Public Health System must be strengthened at the highest level, said the president who chaired a virtual meeting with the governors and others authorities of the country, on a Health Tuesday journey, amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

Maduro pointed out that in Venezuela most of the patients infected with the virus are being cared for within the national public hospital network, even in private units that the Executive branch provides free of charge with the arsenal of medicines prepared for this purpose.

Venezuela confirmed 440 new cases of coronavirus this Tuesday, 412 by community transmission and 28 imported from Colombia and two coming from Brazil, as reported the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez.

At the same time, four new deaths were reported, to account for 120 fatal victims of the outbreak, of which the country reports 12,774 people who have been infected with the disease.

6,983 patients have recovered, which is equivalent to 55% of the total, there are currently 5,671 active cases, said Rodríguez, who was also present at the presidential activity.
