Chávez and Fidel: Leaders of rebellious and anti-imperialist spirit

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the struggle of the leaders of the Bolivarian and Cuban Revolution, Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro, for the dignity of the peoples and against neoliberalism.

From Havana, Cuba, in the framework of the meeting of the 16th Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Latin America, Peoples Trade Treaty (Alba-TCP), the Head of State stressed that a characteristic of both leaders was their rebellious anti-imperialist spirit and that of believing in the great Homeland that the liberators of America dreamed.

“Two men characterized by deep love for the idea taken from Bolívar and Martí of a great Homeland. Two men of rebellious spirit, bravely rebellious that led them to a proclaimed and open anti-imperialism”.

Within the framework of the commemoration of 23 years of the first meeting between Chavez and Castro, Maduro, said that both had the ability to find the paths that led them to realize their dreams for the liberation of the peoples, highlighting that their ideals remain fully in force before the abuses of the United States Government against the Cuban and Venezuelan people.

“The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Treaty of Trade of the Peoples (Alba-TCP) and the results that have been generated in these 13 years of its foundation, at the initiative of Commanders Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro, allow us to say now that it has been worthwhile to travel these roads of the construction of the alliance between the peoples”, he said.
