UN Secretary rejects terrorist acts planned in Colombia against Venezuela

The Secretary General of the United Nations Organization (UN), António Guterres, expressed on Monday his rejection of the terrorist actions that intended a paramilitary incursion this Sunday on the coasts of La Guaira state, planned in Colombia against Venezuela.

“Under instructions from President Nicolás Maduro, I spoke with the UN Secretary General. We thank António Guterres for his firm rejection of an escalation of violence in the country. He called for dialogue and peace, in the face of planned mercenary aggressions in Colombia”, wrote the Chancellor in his account on the Twitter social network.

In the early hours of Sunday, May 3, Venezuelan intelligence agencies captured a group of terrorists who were attempting a criminal incursion into the country, with the aim of generating violence through a coup d’etat.

In the so-called “Operation Gideon,” there was a Venezuelan who claimed to be an official of the Administration for Drug Control (DEA) along with other mercenaries.

The actions for terrorist purposes were thwarted by the National Armed Forces (FANB) and other security forces in the country, where eight other men were killed after clashes.

At the scene, were seized high-caliber weapons; satellite phones; vehicles with machine gun mounting rigs, among other war items.

For these facts, the Public Ministry (MP) presented this Monday to the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) five men involved in the so-called “Operation Gideon”, identified as: Enderson Isrrael Ríos; Wilmer Oswaldo Salinas Sánchez; José Armando Alvarado; José Alberto Socorro and Martin Alvarez.

“These detainees are linked to the Gideon operation that was criminally “hired” by Guaidó and Alcalá: with the terrorist “company” Silvercorp USA”, as explained the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab.
