Venezuela thanks support of Russia and Cuba to combat the pandemic

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his thanks to Russia on Wednesday, after the arrival of the second charter flight from that European nation to the country, to continue to maintain control and strengthen the mechanisms of prevention of the global. Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic.

The Venezuelan head of state indicated that on Wednesday he received 20,000 PCR test kits for the Covid-19 mass detection process.

Likewise, the National President thanked the support from Cuba, which to date has sent humanitarian aid to 14 countries, including Italy and Spain, two of the nations most affected by the pandemic.

During a meeting with the Presidential Commission for the Prevention of Covid-19, the Venezuelan president pointed out that this humanitarian aid is one of the largest that reaches the country, despite the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the government of the United States (USA), which prevents the country from accessing the financial resources necessary to acquire the necessary supplies to combat the coronavirus.

He also explained that said aid is directed to the Covid-19 Prevention and Care Plan in Venezuela:

“The plan focuses on strengthening the capacity of the Health System to quickly identify and treat patients, providing water and sanitation in prioritized hospitals and communities, as well as providing timely and reliable information to the public to avoid the transmission of the virus”, said Nicolás Maduro.

President Maduro also indicated. that the plan “seeks to ensure that other programs related to food, nutrition, protection and education can continue in the country”.
