Union between Cuba and Venezuela is based on great historical interests

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, said Monday that cooperation with the Republic of Cuba is based on the great historical interests outlined by Simón Bolívar and José Martí that consolidate the definitive liberation of the peoples of our Americas:

“This union is not based on petty or material interests, it is based on great historical interests. Our union is not one of paper, it has deep roots, Bolívar and Martí and so we must feel it and transmit it to the generations of the future”, said the head of state.

During the 20th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of the Cuba-Venezuela Integral Cooperation Agreement, which took place at Miraflores Palace, the first National President indicated that the cooperation between both nations has been a model, unique and exemplary:

“If we review these years and have greater capacity for dissemination, communication, we could show that in these 20 years our relationship has been a model, exemplary, unique, socialist, of meeting and reunion”, he said.

Maduro added that the relations of the Caribbean country with Venezuela have focused on win-win terms, of complementarity and solidarity, as part of the reunion of the “long roads from Bolívar” and the legacy of José Martí.

Similarly, the dignitary recalled that next October, will celebrate 20 years of the signing of the cooperation agreement between Commander Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro.

“We will remember and commemorate in full the signature, made in 2000, of this integral cooperation agreement”, said the president in a joint radio and television broadcast.
