The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the importance of the National Constituent Assembly, an institution that qualified as a carrier of the energy that can transform reality.
“It is a privilege for a country. We have to become more and more aware of the importance of the constituent times we are living and we have to convert it into a popular constituent process, into a popular process of activation of moral, ideological, political, institutional, transforming energy forces. Because precisely the ANC is the carrier of all the energy that can transform reality”, he said during the presentation of the annual message to the Nation, from the headquarters of the Originary Constituent Power.
The Head of State remembered Commander Chávez, and asserted that the leader would have wanted to have the opportunity to activate the Constituent Power in the same magnitude as it is today.
He called to defend the ANC nationally and internationally, as the experience of the people’s constituent process that was activated in Venezuela in the second half of 2017.
“It’s a unique experience in the history of revolutions. That gives us the possibility of a great political, legislative, institutional, moral renewal, of a great constitutional renewal”, he said.
He stressed his excitement to present the balance of the Management of the Revolutionary Government during 2017 before the ANC.
