The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, stressed that Venezuela is a vanguard promoting the rights of women and the incorporation of women in the different structures of the people’s power: “Today we can see how our people’s power is directed 70% towards women”.
During the mobilization that took place from Parque Carabobo to the Legislative Palace, in commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Cabello stressed that “Venezuela is a pioneer in the defense of women’s rights, we can see how the Venezuelan woman, from 55 years old has the right to a pension, whatever she does, we recognize housekeeping just as any other work”.
However, he pointed out that “there are spaces where it should be improved, one of them is impunity against the violence of women who have been mistreated or murdered, that is why the corresponding entities work day by day to improve and respond quickly to these facts, everyone who attacks a woman must be severely punished”.
In that sense, the Vice President of PSUV called on the international community to guarantee respect for women’s rights, adding that “we need to reject absolutely any aggression against women, not only Venezuelans but anywhere in the world. We raise our voice and our flag to demand respect for women”.
Cabello, confirmed that the Bolivarian Revolution has vindicated Venezuelan women and has promoted inclusion policies in the country’s political, economic and social processes:
“Today here, in Venezuela, we have the moral to say that Venezuela is a vanguard in the rights of women and the punishment against those who assault them”.
