Spokesmen of the Venezuelan opposition that participate in the National Dialogue Board insist that the mechanisms and tools should be sought so that the National Assembly (AN) can get out of contempt, as well as advance in the election of new authorities of the National Electoral Council (CNE), as foreseen in one of the agreements with the National Government.
Felipe Mujica, secretary general of MAS, one of the political awnings in the Board, indicated in a statement to the media on Wednesday, that during a meeting held on January 15, various proposals were addressed to advance the political agreements that were subscribed in this instance by both the opposition and the National Government:
“The CNE cannot be elected in either of the two conflicting scenarios of the opposition, so the path of legislative omission must be sought, then it must be up to the Supreme Court to choose the authorities and do so in a plural, democratic, political manner, in such a way that Venezuelans can count on an electoral body in the short term. The most important task is to have a CNE capable of taking the necessary steps so that the country gets en route of the construction of the peaceful exit», he said.
He insisted that the country’s solutions must be built by Venezuelans without foreign interference:
«The theme of the National Assembly is of all the inhabitants of the country and the effort must be made from all scenarios,» he said.
