Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua are facing a "new onslaught" from the United States

The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, assured in the 18th Political Council of ALBA/TCP that Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua, are facing a “new onslaught” by the United States.
“Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela face a new onslaught of imperialism, the old and anachronistic Monroe Doctrine is in force and we must be on alert”, said the Chancellor.
Likewise, Arreaza said that Latin America lives “a historic struggle” for its riches and the attempt by Washington to dominate, which, in his opinion, “does not forgive” the election of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
In this same order of ideas, the Chancellor denounced the “blockade of 1,547 million dollars by Novo Bank of Portugal”, which, he explained, would be destined to the health sector, the construction of houses and the purchase of supplies for the nation:
“It is not just a financial blockade it is a persecution against Venezuela, we have been confiscated CITGO, the Bank of England kidnapped us more than 1,320 million dollars in gold”, he added.
“From La Habana, we make a call on the United States to resume the path of diplomacy, politics and understanding. From ALBA we call for the end of the blockade against Cuba and Venezuela”, said Arreaza.
Regarding the Venezuelan society, the Chancellor assured that “the people are working for the economic recovery of the country, children and young people in schools and universities”, and at the same time denied being seeking for a war:
“We can be preparing, because the circumstances force us to do so, but it is not war what we want in Venezuela”, he said.
Earlier, the Chancellor of Cuba Bruno Rodríguez said that “threats of the use of force against Venezuela constitute the most serious threat to regional peace and security”.
Also, Rodriguez rejected “the military interventionism by the US and the economic sanctions against Venezuela”, as well as reiterated the support of his country to the national president, Nicolás Maduro.
