The Attorney General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, said on Wednesday that is being investigated the death of 6 people occurred in events after the failed attempt of the coup d’etat against the constitutional president Nicolás Maduro orchestrated on April 30 by leaders of the right wing and a small group of soldiers following orders from the US government.
In that regard, he stressed that in the irregular action was intended to spill the blood of the Venezuelan population, while claiming that there were more than a thousand shots by civilians who possessed weapons of war.
«On April 30 they were parliamentarians supporting the coup d’état, they have taken politics to the subject of mockery and circus, there were wounded and killed by a group,» he said during an interview with the Globovisión TV station.
Likewise, Saab affirmed in the following days at least 300 people were arrested for being immersed in crimes and will be prosecuted. «The detainees will be prosecuted, if they are innocent they will be released, and if they are guilty they will be convicted»
He also referred to about 30 denounces of hate crimes, sieges and physical attacks for expressing sympathy towards the national government or its socialist project, such cases include a report for lynching.
On the other hand, Saab stressed that there are 10 deputies of the National Assembly in contempt, who participated openly in this coup action:
«They became conspiracy actors, betrayed their own homeland (…) There are 3 other parliamentarians who appear publicly and notoriously participating in the coup d’etat, they have been judicialized, the moments of justice do come», he added.
«It is spoken of flagrancy because they were at the time of the facts, they were filmed, recorded, they proclaimed themselves as the future rulers of Venezuela through the de facto way», he said.
In addition, he reiterated that the crimes for which they are accused are: Treason to the Homeland, Violation of the Constitutional Order, Civil Rebellion and Conspiracy.
