The new President of Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) Manuel Quevedo, thanked the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, for his appointment as head of the country’s leading company, promising to carry out a thorough cleanup of the state oil company.

“Cleanup in PDVSA, starting today (…) The bourgeoisie has been worried, because the Bolivarian Government’s actions have managed to capture many of the infiltrates who were inside the oil industry, to many of the infiltrates (…) carrying there an almost passive strike, and to those who are left, let them worry a lot, because we tell them that as of today the first worker of our country, President Nicolás Maduro, is in command of the oil industry”, he declared.

“We will go after it, we will go one by one, we will raise the production is our commitment (…) raise the refining capacity. We are going to clean up the public finances, so that once and for all get rid of all the thieves who were here in PDVSA disguised in red, and we will do it for a commitment with the people”, he said.
