On the occasion of the commemoration of World Earth Day, the commission of Eco-Socialism delivered on Monday to the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, a draft of the Constitutional Law for the rights of Mother Earth.
“The second country in the world in history that will have a Constitutional Law to protect the rights of Mother Earth will be Venezuela, the first is our sister Bolivia thanks to President Evo Morales,” declared the national president during the activity he led at Miraflores Palace.
He expressed his commitment to all environmentalist and ecological movements to deliver to the National Constituent Assembly this project for its review, and so this year Venezuela may have its Constitutional Law for the Protection of the Rights of Mother Earth.
He denounced that “capitalism in the last 200 years has demolished the basic balances of the planet. We are living a global climate change”.
