The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, announced that the first national popular consultation will be held on February 2 of this year, with the aim of consolidating the People’s Power, participatory and direct democracy in the communities.
He also added that this year, will be held six popular consultations in which will be chosen the projects that have been previously evaluated and discussed from the bases.
In this context, the head of State highlighted that this first popular election will be held on February 2, in honor of the 26 years of the arrival of Commander Chávez to the constitutional presidency of Venezuela.
On the other hand, the President added that among the consultations to be carried out is a project for youth and culture, for which he instructed the Minister of People’s Power for Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado, and the Minister of People’s Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, to remain attentive to the process that will be carried out through communal and direct democracy in the 5,297 communal circuits of the country.
Popular victories of Venezuela:
The President emphasized that the great historical, Bolivarian and popular Block has obtained victory in 29 elections, and in turn, mentioned that in 2025, as part of the history that the revolution has forged, ten electoral elections will be held, of which six are popular, three for mayors, governors and municipal councils, and the last, the constitutional reform.
As part of his annual message, the Commander-in-Chief of the FANB recalled that Venezuela has already held seven referendums, including the one on the vindication of historical rights over the Essequibo region, in December 2023.
