Cuba rejects US government measures against Venezuela

Cuban Chancellor Bruno Rodriguez rejected the measures taken by the United States Government against Venezuela, «which attack legitimate income that the country receives. All our solidarity with the Bolivarian and Chavista Revolution, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro and the Venezuelan people, in the face of this new imperial onslaught.»

It was known that the government of Donald Trump imposed new sanctions against the Chevron company, with which were canceled the licenses for the export of oil that his predecessor, Joe Biden, granted to Venezuela, which will cease to be valid as of March 1.

The US president stated that he had decided to revoke the concessions granted in November 2022 by the Biden Government, which allowed Chevron to increase its production in Venezuela and export oil from the Caribbean nation.

In reference to this, the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, indicated that “the Government of the United States has made a harmful and inexplicable decision; by announcing sanctions against the US company Chevron, intending to harm the Venezuelan people.”

In reality, harm is being inflicted on the United States itself, on its population and its companies, also calling into question the legal security of the US in its international investment regime,” added the Minister of People’s Power for Hydrocarbons.
