President blames Colombia and the United States for assassination attempt

“I have no doubt that the drone that was launched to kill me was prepared in Colombia under the supervision of former president (Juan Manuel) Santos, with the direct orders of the White House. I have no doubts about it at this time”.

On the basis of this pointing, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, accused the governments of Colombia and the United States of being behind the frustrated assassination attempt registered on August 4.

In a press conference with international media held on Wednesday from Miraflores Palace in Caracas, he continued detailing that a high official of the White House gave the authorization to perpetrate the attack against him.

This same character, he added, “protects the intellectual authors and planners of the attack who are living, protected by the US government, in Florida”, who, he added, have been requested to the US authorities on several occasions.

“… Our government has demanded the government of the United States, through its embassy in Venezuela, to respond, to deliver them to us, and the response has been silence, an accomplice silence. Let’s not even talk about the governments of Colombia, past and the present, accomplices of the whole conspiracy”, said the president.
