Venezuela condemns sanctions by the US against the vice president of Nicaragua

The National Government condemned on Wednesday the sanctions measures by the government of the United States against the Vice President of the Republic of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo, along with the presidential private Secretary, Néstor Moncada.

Last Tuesday, the Government of Donald Trump formalized a series of sanctions against Murillo and the National Security Advisor of the Central American nation, Néstor Moncada Lau, among which are the prohibition to any US company or citizen from conducting negotiations with the designated ones, who are not allowed to enter the country.

Given this, the Government of Venezuela, through a statement issued by the Venezuelan Chancellory pointed out that: “the aforementioned unilateral coercive measures are intended to affect the stability of the brotherly Nicaraguan people and constitutional government. Once again, the intention is to propitiate scenarios of political violence and economic distortion in order to favor a change of regime in the Homeland of Sandino”.
