On October 29, 2008, was made the launching, from China, of the first artificial satellite owned by the Venezuelan State, the Simón Bolívar, (VENESAT-1), marking the beginning of our technological sovereignty.
The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, celebrated 10 years of this historic date, through a message posted on his Twitter account, assuring that the Simón Bolívar satellite has allowed the inclusion of the entire people in telecommunications.
