Maduro celebrates 10 years of the launching of the Simón Bolívar satellite

On October 29, 2008, was made the launching, from China, of the first artificial satellite owned by the Venezuelan State, the Simón Bolívar, (VENESAT-1), marking the beginning of our technological sovereignty.

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, celebrated 10 years of this historic date, through a message posted on his Twitter account, assuring that the Simón Bolívar satellite has allowed the inclusion of the entire people in telecommunications.

VENESAT-1 has facilitated the access and transmission of data services over the Internet, telephony, television and telemedicine; managing to meet the telecommunication needs in those remote or difficult to access areas.
