Economist proposes organic law for use and monitoring of foreign exchange

Economist Pascualina Curcio proposed on Tuesday an Organic Law for the use of foreign exchange within the 2019-2025 Homeland Plan that allows monitoring through the Comptroller General of the Republic and social.

During her participation in the “Boza con Valdez” (Boza with Valdez) program, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, the professor at the Simon Bolivar University explained that the exchange control mechanism established since 2003 should be strengthened.

“In Socialism it is a contradiction to lift the exchange control, because it is equivalent to giving control of public currencies to the private sector”, said Curcio.

He pointed out that since the foreign exchange administration system was implemented, international reserves rose.

The economist maintained that “the illegal websites that set the prices of currencies are weapons that look to distort the national economy with the value of the currency”

She also noted that “before nationalizing the oil industry, the transnationals took the Venezuelan crude oil and left us the minimum reserve in order to create a dependency”.
