BCV publishes from this Tuesday value indicators of Sovereign Bolivar and Petro

From this Monday, August 20, Venezuela has two units of account: the Sovereign Bolivar and the Petro. In that sense, the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) began to publish from Tuesday, August 21, the official indicators of reference value of the Sovereign Bolivar and the Petro.

The president of the issuing entity, Calixto Ortega Sánchez, indicated that the information will be updated daily and can be accessed through a module, located in the upper right corner of the, www.bcv.org.ve website. The aforementioned section allows the Venezuelan people, as well as the financial and business sector, to know the official value of the Sovereign Bolivar and its anchoring in the Petro.

Likewise, the reference valuation of Petro as an Account Unit and its equivalence in convertible currencies such as the euro, yuan, ruble and dollar is available.

The head of the BCV thanked the Venezuelan people for their “patience and civility in relation to the process of adaptation that went through the national banking system” for the entry into circulation of the new monetary cone.

“We also want to highlight and thank the hard work done by the public and private banks of the country, which showed their willingness and demonstrated their ability to make appropriate adjustments to their systems in the period of time established,” he said.
