A study conducted by the polling firm Hinterlaces between July 2 and 18 revealed that 58% of Venezuelans prefer that in this new stage of the Bolivarian Revolution the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, be the one to solve the current economic problems from the country.

The survey was conducted on the basis of 1,580 interviews to households in the country, as reported journalist José Vicente Rangel, who announced the results of this study in the “Confidentials” block of his “José Vicente Hoy” (José Vicente Today) program, broadcast on Sunday by Televen.

The respondents were asked: “What would you prefer, the Government of President Maduro to take effective measures and resolve, even in part, the economic problems of the country, or do you prefer an opposition government to come?: For Maduro to resolve got an 58% answers, against the coming of an opposition government, which got 39%”.

Among the six strategic lines of action that will mark the new stage of government management defined by the Head of State is advancing a productive economic agreement for the stabilization, growth and prosperity of the country and at the same time the strengthening and expansion of the achievements of the people through the system of security and social protection, implemented by means of the Carnet de la Patria (Homeland Card) system, given the current situation.

In this regard, the national leader has reiterated his call for dialogue and the promotion of work groups with business sectors to promote the sustained recovery of the economy and its strengthening.

At the same time, the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) promotes assemblies with the organized people’s power for the presentation of proposals that will be added to the actions that will emanate from this legislative body to address the economic issue, which point to the fight against speculation, the audit to ensure that products are marketed at fair prices, supervision of production companies, strengthening of the currency, the exercise of greater control of the border and the determination of prices on basic goods and services.
