President Maduro recognized the work of communication professionals

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, led the ceremony on the occasion of the award of the Simón Bolívar National Journalism Award, from the National Pantheon, in Caracas. He took the opportunity to congratulate those who day after day struggle to carry the truth of Venezuela inside and outside our borders.

“I want to convey to the entire journalistic union and all the social communicators of the country a recognition of love for their daily work, to those who go out every day to tell the truth, to meet the reality of Venezuela and always to smile in this complex struggle that we carry forward”, he said.

“We are a free country of free men, of free women and we are not willing to deceive anyone. That is the ethics of Bolivarian journalism (…) it has been shown that the revolutionary project has not only founded republics, but has founded free he added.

Maduro highlighted the importance of the “Correo del Orinoco” (Orinoco Mail), the first Venezuelan communication media in history, founded by the Liberator Simon Bolivar to bring the truth of Venezuela before society. He denounced the attack of imperialism against the heroic deed of Bolivar.

“The imperialist elite of the United States always viewed with envy the libertarian glories of Bolivar in the immense cause of the South American emancipation of his army, always underestimated the political capacity of statesman and the warlike capacity of our liberating army led by Simón Bolívar”.

During the ceremony, were recognized the members of the Radio Nacional de Venezuela system, Ana María Hernández, for the research, production and moderation of the “Pauta” program, which airs every Friday at 4:00 p.m., by RNV Informative channel. Was also awarded journalist Zuleiny García, for the conduction of the program “El Sistema: Acordes en Revolución” (The system: Chords in Revolution), dedicated to the Simón Bolívar System of Children and Youth Orchestras.

The communicators of the Production and Research Unit of RNV Gerardo Flores, Yunidaira Machado, José Rodríguez and Jaime Acosta, were recognized by the series “Violencia de la derecha fascista en 2017” (Violence of the fascist right wing in 2017), made on the subject of political violence promoted by opposition sectors during 2017.

Journalist Cristina González was also recognized with the National Lifetime Achievement Award. for her space of reflection and analysis “Esto es lo que hay” (This is what there is) broadcast on Sundays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, by RNV Informative channel.
