Eduardo Piñate, recently appointed as Minister of People’s Power for the Social Process of Work, was released in office with the third salary increase, so far in 2018, announced yesterday by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, a measure that, in view of the new minister ratifies the policy of defense of family income.
«It is one more element that confirms that in the face of economic war and permanent aggression against the Venezuelan people, through abusive and speculative increases unrelated to the economy, we continue to defend the people.»
The basic minimum wage was 3,000,000 bolivars, while the food bonus was 2,196,000 bolivars, representing an increase of 103%. The worker began to receive, from this June 20, a minimum integral salary of 5,196,000 bolivars.
The measure was extended to pensioners, so the pension rose to 3,000,000 bolivars, in addition to the economic war bonus of 1,200,000 bolivars.
Piñate, during a telephone contact with the «Al Aire» (On Air) program, broadcast by VTV, was emphatic in pointing out that the measure must be fulfilled by all the institutions and entities of the national government, as well as by all levels of regional and municipal governments.
The Minister also clarified that this new wage increase is part of a comprehensive policy, so he said that they continue working on the adoption of new measures, in all areas, for the stabilization of the economy.
Bonuses and missions also increased:
The different social programs implemented by the national government also experienced an increase. The Mission Homes of the Homeland bonus increased to Bs 1,500,000 (family of two members), 2,280,000 (family of 3 members), 3,060,000 (4 members), 3,840,000 (5 members), 4,620 .000 (6 members), 5,400,000 (7 members), 6,180,000 (8 members), 6,960,000 (9 members) and 7,740,000 (10 members).
The beneficiaries of the Humanized Delivery Plan, Breastfeeding and Mission José Gregorio Hernández, will receive Bs. 3,000,000. The bonus of the Mission «Chamba Juvenil» (Youth Job) was Bs. 3,000,000.
Maduro decreed a 200% adjustment in the salaries of teachers, doctors, police, military and other public administration workers.
