226 years after his birth! Maduro: Miranda was the great precursor of freedom

As we meet 266 years since the birth of Francisco de Miranda, a hero of the independence, President Nicolas Maduro recalled such an important date.
“Miranda was the great precursor of freedom, responsible for the articulation of diverse peoples to prepare the liberation struggle of the American continent,”  stressed the head of state in the publication.
Following, the text of the publication:
On March 28, 1750 the Homeland gave birth to one of its most illustrious sons, the Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda, the universal man from Caracas, the man who traveled the world, from battle to battle, earning the respect of the armies of several nations.
Miranda was the great precursor of freedom, responsible for the articulation of diverse peoples to prepare the liberation struggle of the American continent. When the Generalissimo  hoisted up our tricolor banner aboard the Leander ship, he raised the hope of the oppressed ones, sowed the brotherhood of our future nations.
There is not throughout the universal history a revolutionary man such as Francisco de Miranda, the free Homeland that he dreamed today pays him tribute and keeps his emancipatory example always in force, as one of the main role models to follow.
Long live Francisco de Miranda!
