40 people linked to political violence received procedural benefits

The Minister of People’s Power for Communication and Information, Jorge Rodríguez, offered on Saturday a report on the release of 40 people who committed crimes of political violence, adding up to then a total of 79 beneficiaries, a process promoted by the President of the Republic Bolivarian of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, for the sake of national reconciliation.

“These measures have been taken for the sake of peace, reconciliation in the search for dialogue, of never again having violence to attempt against people, against public or private goods, never again to burn people alive”, he said.

During a press conference ats Miraflores Palace, Rodríguez rejected the coverage made by international media, which distorts the reality of the process.

“In these 2 days that this historical process has taken place we have seen how the international media want to exalt hatred and minimize the actions of those who committed crimes. We insist on our call for peace, beyond the attacks carried out from abroad against Venezuela that do not help anything (…) these gestures promote Venezuelans to be united to common goals, the constitution, democracy, peace, coexistence and harmony they must be words that we all share”, he added.

The Minister highlighted and supported the statement issued by the Committee of Victims of the Guarimbas (street riots) supporting the granting of these benefits to these people.

He highlighted the commitment of President Maduro, who continues to fulfill the promises he made to the people, promoting a dialogue among Venezuelans.
