Venezuela has international markets for its oil

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, at an international press conference held this Thursday from Miraflores Palace in Caracas, assured that if the US Government threatened to seize Venezuelan oil, it would be placed in other international markets.

“The oil embargo announced by the US press and suggested by the US State Secretary, Rex Tillerson, is an illegal measure in the light of international law, is an inconvenient measure in light of the interests of the United States and Venezuela, and it is a measure that should not be taken; It would be one of the biggest mistakes in international politics that President Donald Trump would commit, but I do not know if he would have any adviser who will open the light of understanding”, he explained.

He detailed that Venezuela has different options in the international market to effectively place its entire oil production.

“If they took some kind of extra measures like the ones that Julio Borges and the Venezuelan right wing are asking for against the Venezuelan people, we would respond, and may you have the certainty – I say it with great humility but with great firmness – that Venezuela would not keep its arms crossed, Venezuela has international markets for its oil”, said the President.

The Secretary of State of the White House, Rex Tillerson, during a tour through countries allied to the administration of Donald Trump in Latin America which has been massively publicized by the US press, has suggested a possible embargo on the national oil as part of the requests carried out by sectors of the Venezuelan right wing.
