The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) ratified on Thursday its commitment to the principles of freedom and defense of sovereignty promoted by Ezequiel Zamora, architect of the Federal War (1859-1863) and defender of the rights of the peasant class.
Through a statement issued by the Minister of Defense, Vladimir Padrino, on the occasion of the close of the bicentennial year of the birth of the General of the Sovereign People, the military institution recognizes Zamora as the “immortal fire that leads the way to victory in times so convulsed “, for which it raises its flags of dignity “before the onslaught of governments that show their submission to foreign powers, demonstrating their fragility and cowardice that result in unsustainable shame before their societies”.

Ezequiel Zamora, a hero turned into a hurricane of struggle and dreams that sought the conquest of a new freedom, for the popular masses humiliated and betrayed by a ruling class that exhibited its miseries in the honeys of power, ignoring those who together with them, had fought the most bloody battles in favor of the emancipation.
Today, at the culmination of the Bicentennial year of the birth of the General of the Sovereign People, we remember and exalt this virtuous leader who continues to be a living example of the power that emerged from the civic-military union, a commander who rose up in an impassioned cry from those who do not they had a voice Zamora survives as the paradigm of conscious rebellion, detachment, patriotic love, freedom, justice and social egalitarianism, supreme values of true democracy … “Land and free men” “Popular election”
The “Valiant Citizen” is the epitome of the Bolivarian Militia, it is immortal fire that leads the way to victory in such convulsive times. By evoking its gallant stamp and glimpsing the inclement attacks against Venezuela, by the imperial enemies themselves and their internal allies who intend to subject us to a restructured colonialism of the 21st century; again we raise their flags of dignity and repudiate the onslaught of governments that show their submission to foreign powers, demonstrating their fragility and cowardice that result in unsustainable shame to their societies.
Venezuela remains unscathed in the heroic spirit inherited from our heroes, men and women of honor, courage, humility, intelligence and full humanity. For this reason, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces ratify together with its people, with which it constitutes the building of this prosperous, invincible, unbreakable and indestructible country; its anti-imperialist and anti-oligarchic nature, which is why it will never abandon its historical principles and its status as guarantor of the sovereignty and independence of the Bolivarian Homeland.
