CNE abides by the constitutional protection of the TSJ and will continue with the consultative referendum process on December 3

The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso, reported on Friday that 99 percent of the electoral machines had been installed so far for the simulacre of consultative referendum in defense of Guayana Esequiba held this Sunday, November 19.

In this sense, he assured that 80 percent of the electoral schedule presented to all Venezuelans has been fulfilled, “this is a process with true guarantees.”

In a statement from the Electoral Branch, he indicated that the organization abides by the ruling issued by the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), which authorizes the making of the consultative referendum:

From the CNE we inform the Venezuelan people that we have received the decision issued by the TSJ dated November 16, in which it declares competent, admits as a matter of law and declares admissible the constitutional protection action for the protection of the referendum in defense of Guayana Esequiba”, he stated.

Amoroso stressed that, among the organs of Public Power is the CNE, “which unanimously abides by this sovereign decision of the Constitutional Chamber of the TSJ.”
