The Minister for Communes and Vice President for Territorial Socialism, Aristóbulo Istúriz, said this Monday that President Maduro’s greatest achievement has been to maintain independence from the international attack that his administration has received.
“One of the virtues of President Maduro is that he does not abandon Chávez’s legacy, no matter how difficult it may be (…) he has always defended the line of peace, and has received the support of all sectors”, he said.
During a special program in the context of the Annual Message to the Nation by the Head of State, he explained that the level of leadership of President Maduro has been fundamental to promote the Revolutionary process, “contrasting a bunch of damages from the right wing and Fascism, the people have fought for peace”.
He added that the convocation to the National Constituent Assembly was an act of trust in the people and loyalty to Hugo Chávez.
“The strategic objective is peace, for that reason so much tenacity, perseverance, confidence, and the people followed it convinced of the force”, said the Minister.
Istúriz said that in front of any act the President has been firm in peace: “Imperialism and the right wing saw the physical absence of Chavez as an opportunity to stalk and threaten the revolution, and President Maduro has been firm”.
In terms of achievements at the international level, he expanded that the policies implemented by the Head of State both in the OAS and in the United Nations have been ratified by defeating any interventionist act that violates the National Sovereignty.
