Diaz on corruption in PDVSA: They tried to implode the main industry of the country

The apprehension of 65 managers of the oil industry, headed by former president of Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), Nelson Martinez, and former Minister of Petroleum, Eulogio Del Pino, reveals what for many, – as said the lawyer and Constituent, María Alejandra Díaz-, was part of a plan to put an end to the oil industry.

The reasons for the corruption plot exposed by the Attorney General of the Republic, Tareck William Saab, was to implode the main national industry «to tell the world that Chavismo does not have the capacity to manage such an industry».

What is being lived with PDVSA is a sort of déjà vu of 2002, as referred the constituent, evoking the strategy of those managers allied to the sabotage strike of December 2 (2002) that caused a fall of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the oil sector of a 25%, losses in the order of 14,430 million dollars for unrealized sales, as well as a decrease of close to 9,998 million dollars in the tax capacity of the state oil company and its subsidiaries to the national treasury, according to official figures.

These people, -she continued pointing out-, slowed down investments and paralyzed exploration in the case of gas, as shown in the last PDVSA management report for 2016, a document that the lawyer promised to present in her television program, on VTV, to expose how they shamelessly made up those figures.

Díaz, who was accompanied by the former Ambassador of Venezuela to the OAS, Roy Chaderton, during an interview on the «Dando y Dando-Radio» (Taking and Giving-Radio) program, broadcast by RNV Informative Channel, agreed that this was the second phase of the plan perpetrated in 2002, after having survived inside of the Venezuelan state-owned company a detached vision of the ends of the nation-state, enshrined in articles 3 and 5 of the Constitution of the Republic

For his part, Chaderton lamented that, with money from PDVSA, have been financed the acts of terrorism and destabilization registered in the country.
