Venezuela and Russia signed contracts to increase oil and gold production

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced on Thursday the signing of a set of investment contracts between the governments of Venezuela and Russia in oil and mining matters.

In a video posted on his official account on Twitter, meeting with the team of ministers who accompany him on his work visit to Moscow, he announced the signing of contracts for more than 5 billion dollars to increase oil production through joint ventures with Russia.

In addition to this, both governments signed a contract for an amount exceeding one billion dollars to guarantee the production of gold, this under the goal set by the national chief executive to triple the production of this precious mineral by 2019 and in this way to turn Venezuela into the second world power in the exploitation of gold.

The Head of State also announced the signing of contracts for the care, assistance, repair and maintenance of the nation’s weapons system.

In the video, Maduro said that the supply of wheat is guaranteed by 2019 with the signing of a contract for the supply of 600,000 tons of wheat and thus meet the consumption of the Venezuelan people.
