The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, referred on Tuesday to the threats made by leaders of opposition parties to their militants, in case they came to participate in the elections called by the National Electoral Council to elect the representatives of the 335 municipalities of the national territory.
Through his account on the Twitter social network, the Chancellor wrote: «The only dictatorship there is, is that of the MUD (right wing parties coalition): they threat with expulsion and public derision to its militants if they bet on democracy and peace».
Acción Democrática, Primero Justicia, Causa R and Voluntad Popular (right wing) parties have publicly stated that they will not participate in the municipal elections and that if their militants decide to attend they will be expelled and «banished» from each of the parties.
«AD militants who run as candidates against the party’s position, will assume sanction of self-exclusion established in our statutes», such statement was made by Henry Ramos Allup through his Twitter account.
