Convocation of municipal elections extols democratic mood of Venezuela

The call for municipal elections by the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), demonstrates the democratic mood of Venezuela and its people accustomed to making the decisions of the country through voting, said the constituent Durga Ochoa.

“That means we are living in an extremely democratic country. Through the right to vote, the suffrage is that we can materialize our will, not through terrorist acts”, he said.

He emphasized that there is great expectation in the revolutionary forces that aspire to obtain more than 300 mayors in the next elections with the support of the people.

During an interview in the program “En la Palestra” (In the Lecture board), broadcast by RNV Informative channel, said that the legal regulations have been applied in a restrictive way after the Legislative Council of Zulia state declared as vacant the position of Governor of the entity, after Juan Pablo Guanipa, winner of the elections, rejected to be sworn before the ANC.

“Indeed, what we saw today was the application in any order of what legal regulations mean and in addition to observe as a super-constitutional power as the ANC (…) before the exercise of their functions is perfectly performing their work. That has shown that we are in the quest to ensure full peace, but through this exercise of the ANC we are also aimed at ensuring that this economic war ends for all Venezuelans”, he said.

Ochoa denounced that the only thing pursued by the right and its actors is to take power violently. “We want peace we want absolute respect. It is not possible that Guanipa, after the people voted for him, behaved in that way. He follows the lines of terrorism. ”

“A coup d’état is what they pretended to want to remove a president elected by the people, (…) now they even have a parallel and illegal TSJ,” he denounced.

He asserted that the ANC cannot be described as an arbitrary power when it received the support of the people last July 30.

He asked the Venezuelan people to maintain unity, in order to contribute to the economic recovery of the country.

“It’s a job for everyone … not just a president. We have to contribute our grain of sand, enough of inefficiency, for this revolution to consolidate, “he said.
