Venezuela receives 24 tons of technical assistance from the International Red Cross

The International Red Cross delivered 24 tons of medical supplies this Tuesday as part of a first phase of humanitarian technical assistance to counteract Venezuela’s international economic blockade.
The information was made public by the Minister of People’s Power for Health, Carlos Alvarado, at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, where he explained that this cargo is part of an important batch of supplies that will be received for two years, whose half will be distributed in the eight hospitals and 30 ambulatory centers belonging to the Red Cross Venezuela and the other half will go to the National Public Health System.
Among the inputs received on Tuesday are 14 power plants with their transformers, drums for water storage, medicine kits for emergency care and general medical equipment, among others.
In his declarations, the high official emphasized that with this delivery, the International Red Cross joins China and Russia to help Venezuela to face the attacks that try to destabilize the country.
These aids are coordinated and distributed through work tables maintained by the Bolivarian Government with representatives of the United Nations (UN) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), to receive shipments of medicines under two modalities as they are the direct acquisition or the figure of humanitarian technical assistance, as was the case today.
