The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said that 86% of the Venezuelan people strongly reject the threat of the United States Government of a military intervention.
“For the first time in 200 years of a republic a President of an imperialist nation has dared to threaten a military attack on the Venezuela of peace, the Venezuela of justice, the Venezuela daughter of Bolivar. The United States, Donald Trump, has been answered by our people … more than 86% of the Venezuelan people repudiate and reject these unworthy declarations of a military threat against Venezuela, made by Donald Trump”, he said.
During a meeting with the military high command, preparatory of the 2014 Bolivarian Sovereignty Civilian-military exercise, to be held this Saturday, August 26 and Sunday 27, the Head of State stressed that the vast majority of countries in the region have spoken out against the declaration of the US imperialism against Venezuela, while detailing that it has received more than 3 thousand letters from leaders of the world in rejection to the threat of the Government of Donald Trump.
He also rejected statements by US Ambassador to Colombia, Kevin Whitaker, which he qualified as unacceptable against Venezuela’s sovereignty.
“If in Colombia there was a government that respected international legality and President Juan Manuel Santos would have a little honor, he would repudiate and call the attention of the United States ambassador who has threatened from Bogota to Venezuela; So Venezuela has the right and the obligation to prepare to defend our territorial integrity, our national sovereignty and the right to peace that our beloved people have. ”
He also repudiated the meeting of United States Vice President Mike Pence with Venezuelan fugitives protected in Miami. In this regard, he denounced on Thursday that the US Government is running a scheme to attack Venezuela in a systematic way.
“The Vice-President of the United States, I don’t know if he knows … but at the meeting table there were by his side people involved in serious crimes of terrorism, of placing bombs against embassies in Venezuela, of serious crimes against the security of the nation, people immersed in serious crimes of corruption, terrorists, corrupts by the side of the Vice President of the United Shates, who has devoted the last two weeks not to govern the United States … but has devoted 2 whole weeks to interfering in the internal affairs of Venezuela” .
The National President Nicolás Maduro called on the Bolivarian National Armed Forces to remain alert to threats from the empire.
“The empire of the United States for 100 years and a little more has used the same scheme of action … all this is important for the vision we have of defense, to be prepared, not to be surprised, military leaders of the Country and to be prepared with knowledge of the cause with a capacity for response, with great serenity, with great firmness and with great ferocity to fight with the arms in the hand if we have to fight with the arms of the hand to defend the sacred land of Venezuela . We must be prepared for all scenarios”, he said.
