ANC is a space for the defense of the Bolivarian Revolution

The Chairwoman of the National Constituent Assembly, Delcy Rodríguez, assured that the plenipotentiary power elected by the Venezuelan people, was elected to fight the economic and financial blockade imposed by the North American empire, in addition to deepening the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez.

“When we listen to Commander Chávez we know that we have not strayed from the path. We know that we are building and consolidating what he left us”, he said.

During an interview on the “La Voz de Chávez” (The Voice of Chávez) program, led by the Constituent deputy Adán Chávez, Rodríguez added that the eternal leader of the Bolivarian Revolution proposed the figure of the ANC as an open popular process for the defense of the Bolivarian Revolution and the Constitution, highlighting its activation a few months ago by the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro.

“We are called to remove from the road whatever has made impossible the material validity of our mother and pioneering Constitution. That is why we say that this is a Constituent to deepen the constitution of 1999 (…) there is a mother constitution and it is a Constituent that arrived in the midst of spots of violence; President Nicolás Maduro is just calling for peace”, she added.

She pointed out the work of the original power with a people who voted on July 30 in defense of peace, and against the imperial powers that forged an intervention in the Homeland of Bolivar.

“We are defending a project threatened by the most savage imperial powers that has known the history of mankind. We are defending this process of the media, financial, commercial and international factual powers that have sought to encircle Venezuela to curtail its right to development, the right to peace and the right to the Homeland”, she said.

During his speech he made clear the anti-imperialist character of the Venezuelan people endorsed in the constituent victory of July 30 and the overwhelming triumph during the regional elections in which the Bolivarian Revolution won 18 of the 23 Governorates in dispute.

He assured that President Nicolás Maduro resumed the Constituent spirit of Commander Hugo Chávez: “I feel the Constituent spirit intact, the Constituent spirit of Commander Chávez of 1999, I feel it intact in this Constituent of 2017 because it was the spirit that inspired President Nicolás Maduro”, he said.
