Ombudsman: Venezuela must resume the path of internal dialogue

«Venezuela must retake the path of dialogue internally, so you can say the harshest, hardest things, and participate in the rules of the game that democracy gives us, which includes -as it has been announced for this year- regional and municipal elections» said the Ombudsman, Tarek William Saab, during the «Dialogo con» (Dialogue with…) program, broadcast by Televen.

He emphasized that «Instead of putting the Venezuelan State, the country, the leadership of the Public Powers in a boxing ring, in this case in international organizations such as the OAS or any other,»  must be retaken the path in a sincere and fruitful way.

He added that the Organization of American States (OAS) is not the best scenario, since it has already assumed a position, «It is not even mediocre or conciliatory, but a position against, is not the best scenario.» In his opinion, the best scenario for the national dialogue is what has been developed so far, with the participation of the Vatican, the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) and the former Presidents.

Regarding the marches that will be held on Monday, January 23 in Caracas, he said that «the Ombudsman’s Office always deploys its advocates, lawyers, officials, to preserve the integrity of those who manifest, whether they are government factors or the Board of the Unity, and thus we will do this time. »

On January 23, two marches will take place in Caracas: the one that will accompany the transfer of the remains of Fabricio Ojeda to the National Pantheon and, on the other hand, the one called by the Venezuelan opposition.
